2015 NBA PLAYOFFS – WORLDSCAPES

Art Direction

In 2015 we upped our ECO SYSTEMS to be fullscreen immersive environments. I named them WORLDSCAPES as we were literally creating mini worlds we could orbit within and explore. The logic was simple. Rockets would be a cluster of nebula’s, we could use particular for dense particle formations and get some 3d space rock bits from c4d. Clippers would feel like the old man and the sea, we’d just need a good water pass which we, thankfully, were able to get in maya from a super talented animator who had a cup of coffee at ESPN named Soheil Khosravinejad (we miss you Soheil!). Spurs would be baked earth in the moonlight, and the Grizzlies would be set in their grizzly forest we’ve had for ages. We’d just need to build out the rest of the forest for the worldscape part.
